Description

As an intern at SANBI, you will have the opportunity to work alongside dedicated professionals on a wide range of projects and initiatives aimed at conserving South Africa's biodiversity. Interns will contribute to various tasks, including research, data collection and analysis, project management, public outreach, and administrative support. Responsibilities
  • Assist with fieldwork, data collection, and analysis related to biodiversity research projects.
  • Support the development and implementation of conservation initiatives and programs.
  • Contribute to the creation of educational materials and outreach activities to raise awareness about biodiversity conservation.
  • Assist in the maintenance and management of botanical gardens and conservation areas.
  • Provide administrative support, including document preparation, scheduling, and communication with stakeholders.
  • Participate in team meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance professional development.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant undergraduate or graduate program in biology, environmental science, conservation biology, or a related field.
  • Passion for biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic data analysis software.
  • Prior experience or coursework in biodiversity research, ecology, or conservation is desirable but not required.
