Responsibilities
  • Assist Meteorologists: Work closely with experienced meteorologists to analyze weather data, interpret weather models, and generate forecasts for different regions and timeframes.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, process, and analyze meteorological data using various instruments and software tools to support forecasting activities and research projects.
  • Fieldwork and Observation: Participate in field expeditions, weather balloon launches, and other observational activities to gather firsthand data on atmospheric conditions.
  • Research Support: Contribute to ongoing research initiatives by conducting literature reviews, statistical analyses, and data visualization tasks related to weather, climate, and environmental science.
  • Communication and Outreach: Assist in preparing weather briefings, reports, and educational materials for internal use and public dissemination, helping to enhance weather awareness and preparedness among stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate program in meteorology, atmospheric science, climate studies, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and numerical models.
  • Proficiency in computer programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and familiarity with meteorological software packages (e.g., MATLAB, IDV) is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • A keen interest in weather, climate, and environmental issues, coupled with a desire to contribute to the advancement of meteorological science and services.
