The Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA) is dedicated to promoting and facilitating media diversity and development in South Africa. We aim to empower marginalized communities through access to information and diverse media platforms that reflect our nation’s rich cultural tapestry.

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated interns to join our dynamic team. This internship provides an opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in media development, diversity initiatives, and community engagement. Interns will work closely with various departments to support projects that promote inclusive media representation and capacity building.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning and execution of media development projects.
  • Support research initiatives aimed at understanding media diversity challenges.
  • Help organize workshops, events, and training sessions for community media practitioners.
  • Contribute to the creation of content for MDDA’s digital platforms, including social media and newsletters.
  • Engage with stakeholders and community members to gather feedback and insights.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute ideas for ongoing and future initiatives.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Media Studies, Communications, Journalism, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in media diversity and community engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and digital content creation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
