Responsibilities
  • Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research on environmental laws, regulations, and precedent cases. Analyze findings to support ongoing litigation and policy advocacy efforts.
  • Assistance in Litigation: Provide support to CER attorneys in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and motions. Assist in case preparation and strategy development.
  • Policy Advocacy Support: Assist in monitoring environmental policies and regulations. Contribute to the development of advocacy materials, policy briefs, and submissions to governmental bodies.
  • Community Outreach: Engage with communities affected by environmental issues. Assist in organizing community workshops, events, and educational initiatives.
  • Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support to the CER team, including data entry, filing, and organizing documents.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a law, environmental science, policy, or related program.
  • Strong interest in environmental issues and social justice.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with legal research databases is a plus.
